Great prices. Casual environment. Fine dining experience. Mid-week excuse to get out. That’s the quick summary of the new Bonefish Grill Hooked on Tuesday menu, which we were recently invited to try out. Available Tuesdays after 4pm, the Hooked on Tuesday menu is a three-course, fixed price offering, running from $14.90 to $20.90, depending on your choice of entree. Every meal includes a Bonefish House Salad or Caesar Salad, a choice of entree with two sides, fresh baked bread with pesto dipping sauce, and dessert.
Both salads were fresh with dressings that tasted homemade. The mixed house salad had a wonderful blend of salty olives, sweet dressing, and crunch from the lettuce and pepita seeds. The Caesar salad was light with garlic and seasonings that did not overwhelm.
Our first entree was the broiled Cold Water Lobster Tail with drawn butter and grilled lemon. For our sides we chose the steamed broccoli and seasonal vegetables, not because we’re health nuts, but because we’re butter nuts and loved dipping the vegetable spears in the drawn butter. The vegetables came with the appropriate snap and complemented the mild taste of the lobster. The default sides with the Lobster Tail are crispy Yukon gold potatoes and seasonal vegetables.
Our second entree was the Fontina pork chop. We ordered ours cooked medium, or slightly pink in the middle, and that’s how it came. The meat was juicy and cooked to perfection. It was served with a wine reduced sauce and mushrooms. The French green beans and seasonal vegetables were perfect accompaniments.
To make up for all the vegetables we split Jen’s Jamaican Coconut Pie with warm buttered rum sauce and a Macadamia Nut Brownie. Why is the Coconut Pie not on the regular menu?! It isn’t but it should be. Enjoy it while you can.
A 3-course lobster dinner with a glass of wine is around $25 before tax and tip. The restaurant was full on a Tuesday night, which is a sure sign that Bonefish Grill is on to something.
We really enjoyed the experience; the service was friendly and helpful, the food was fresh and tasty, and the value was great. And dining out mid week sure made the weekend seem that much closer.
