1. Tell us about Gorgi's 2 BBQ.
We are a family barbeque restaurant. We have all types of barbeque but we also carry wraps, wings, and huge BBQ potatoes loaded with grilled veggies and meat. We have a BBQ salad that will fill you up for two days. And we make all our sauces and sides from scratch.
2. What makes Gorgi's 2 BBQ special?
We try to make our customers feel special. We want our customers to leave and feel that they had a good experience with us. I guess the phrase is "we aim to please!" We also take pride in the making of our food. If someone wants to try something we will let you taste it first. If an item isn't on our menu by golly we will do our best to make it anyway if we can.
3. What sort of food do you serve?
We serve ribs, babybacks, chicken on the bone and pulled chicken, pork sliced and pulled, beef, grilled chicken breast, wings, an assortment of homecooked vegetables, wraps, BBQ potatoes, lots of appetizers, homemade peach cobbler and banana pudding, and pies. We have killer quesadillas on Thursday and if you ask real nice they may make it for you on other days too!
4. Where do your recipes come from?
Our recipes have been with this restaurant for years and we have made our own new ones too!
5. What is your top recommendation to someone new to Gorgi's?
That is a hard one but I guess I would say...
1. The ribs (both regular ribs and babybacks).
2. Our big BBQ salad loaded with meat.
3. One of our sandwiches loaded with your choice of meat.
6. What can you recommend to someone looking for something a little different?
Our BBQ potato or our Sloppy "G".
7. What's the most popular dish?
Our Deluxe Combo, which has a variety of our meats.
8. What's your favorite dish?
I love our grilled chicken breast and our wings. I know we aren't a wing place but we have the best wings and babybacks in town!!
9. You're known for your tender ribs. How do you get them so tender?
We have three steps to make the babybacks tender. First, we cook them in a smoker, then in a regular oven and finally on the grill. By the time we are finished they fall off the bone. The spareribs are slow cooked with our special rib rub in a smoker and then finished on the open fire pit. They also are very tender and really good.
10. Anything else you'd like to add?
I would just like to say that I have personally worked in this restaurant for 18 years and I would not still be here if I thought we weren't worth you coming to try us out. The economy has been so hard for us all and it is not like it used to be but if we could just get the people in here I think you would want to come back.
